Besley's Views of Devonshire

Eighteen (larger) lithographic views of Torquay and surrounding area. M/S date 1844 on cover (ink) and Jackson 1863 ownership on flyleaf (more likely). Decorated pink card covers with attractive foliage design. Tissue guards present but some creased. V good copy. Pages gilt edged.

Page size is 135 x 210 mm, view is oval approx 100 x 180 mm. All views have imprint: Pubd. By H Besley, Directory Office, South Street, Exeter. Below vignette right. Artist´s signature left; G Townsend del Exeter unless otherwise noted. Date is often embedded in design towards the bottom edge.
